Long-lasting lipsticks that won't dry out your lips

It’s a common belief that when you use a long-lasting lip colour, you’re basically sacrificing the softness and suppleness of your lips.
So what’s a gal to do when she wants her colour to last for hours and hours, but doesn’t feel like walking around with lips as dry as the Sahara?
Well, thankfully, the idea that a long-lasting lipstick has to be drying is a complete and utter misconception. There are plenty of options out there to keep your lips kissably soft (and popping with colour) all night long.
I took the question to our members, and here are a few of the non-drying, super long-lasting lipsticks they swear by:
Rimmel London Provaclips

Revlon ColourBurst Balm Stain

essence Longlasting Lipstick

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Lipstick

Lancôme Rouge in Love

Yves Saint Laurent Kiss and Blush

L’Oréal Paris Infallible 2-Step Longwear Lipstick

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy

And some of them provided handy tips for getting an extra hit of hydration and even longer wear out of your lip colour:
LAYER YOUR LIPSTICK
“I think a lot of lipsticks can be long-lasting if they’re layered properly.” – mooloo
bh tip: To layer your lipstick, apply one coat of your lipstick, then dab with a tissue, making sure to press the colour into your lips. Apply another layer and dab again. Repeat one more time for good measure and you’re good to go!
ADDING A BALM INTO THE MIX
“I tend to go for a stain such as Benetint or OCC Lip Tar with a bit of 8 Hour Cream over the top to stop my lips from getting dry.” – mooloo
TRY A LIP PRIMER
“The key to lips not drying out is to use NYX Lip Primer. This product makes your lips more hydrated – the product stays on longer and is less likely to bleed.” – Pink Hornet
What’s your favourite long-lasting lipstick that isn’t drying? Do you have any tips for making your lipstick last longer?

Revlon lip stains are one of my favourite, the least amount of touch up and so good for formula and colour. Lip scrubs help keep my lip in good nic and putting on a light layer of balm i find doesn't interrupt longevity too much but does help keep lips hydrated!

don't have any fave at the moment, looking for one that will last and from the company that does not torture ans kill to get their product out. I did have revlon before, but found out of their cruelty, so no more

The Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy ones are my absolute favorite. The colors are really beautiful and pigmented and so long lasting. They are not too glossy and dont dry out my lips.

I love the Too Faced Melted Lipcolours although after about 4 hours they are a little drying but they have a really long lasting time. Also the NYX Macaroon lippies last a long time and are very creamy

Long lasting power isn't a must when it comes to lippies for me. It's more so the colour and formula. I've only tried a few long lasting lippies and often find them unpleasant to wear or difficult to apply.
