SuperStay 24HR Lip Color Reviews

I thought I’d give these a go after spotting them at one of the many 40% off sales Maybelline has at various retailers throughout the year. I host wine tours, run events and interview people on stage, so I need a lip product that will last all day & into the night. Sadly, this isn’t it.

I bought both the Cherry and Plum colours. For some reason, the Plum performs better than the Cherry in terms of staying power. I have to reapply the Cherry before we even get to lunch on tour, yet the Plum will last until I start eating. Both are very drying and the balm “top-coat” seems to make the colour flake and rub off faster. It wears off unevenly too, which isn’t a great look. Neither lasts anywhere close to 24 Hours - more like 2 - 4 hours!!

I’d buy the Plum again (but only on sale!) as I’ve had lots of compliments that the colour really suits me. For my money, the Maybelline Matte Ink products are far superior and have much better staying power.

Maybelline New York's Superstay 24Hr Lip color really does have remarkable staying power compared to other brands of long lasting, smudge proof and transfer proof lip colours that I have used before.

It is packaged as a double ended tube in which one end contains the liquid lip colour with a sponge doe's foot applicator while the other end contains a clear twist up, stick lip gloss that seals the colour in and provides shine.

My favourite colour in the Maybelline New York Superstay 24 Hr Range is one named "Infinite Petal" which is a frosted, pretty pink shade. Intensity of colour is achieved by applying one coat of colour, letting it dry and then applying a second coat of colour before finally sealing it with the clear lip gloss. The other shade of Maybelline New York Superstay 24Hr Lip Color that I own is named "Continuous Coral" which is a frosted coral shade. In fact, of all the brands of long lasting lip colour that I own, I love this brand's frosted shades best.

The staying power of this product is so good that I can eat most types of foods and drink without it affecting my lip colour at all. The only exception may be greasy food as the oil in the food acts like a lipstick remover. If not, this lip colour can last on my lips for nearly a day without me needing to reapply which I am ever so pleased about. If my lips do get dry, it is only because the lip gloss coating has been kissed off but the intensity of lip colour remains the same. So all I do after a bout of kissing is apply the lip gloss only again. Needless to say, even my Hubby loves this lip colour. LOL !!!

I love my two shades of Maybelline New York Superstay 24Hr Lip Colors so much for practicality, convenience and staying power that I hope the Company will introduce new shades into its repertoire. If they do, I'll be one of the first women at the stores to see what they are.

This is a very good long lasting lipstick that does, unfortunately, have its downsides! I was in a musical that required red lipstick all day and all night long in very hot and sweaty conditions. This lipstick was perfect and I only had to reapply a couple of times. There were, however, a few issues like when drinking and eating there was quite a bit of misplacement and this was especially slow when using the adjoining balm which you needed otherwise your lips would be a desert. Other than that it was a pretty decent product.

This liquid lipstick is up there with the high end options. I feel like these products go so under rated they pack a punch and last so well. They have the most amazing scent that is not too in your face but is incredibly pleasant. I have various colours in this and even the more glittery ones last amazingly. The balm that is not shown in the white cap is amazing as well!!

As a purple lipstick lover I naturally had to have the shade 070. The packaging is clean white and lets you see the colour of the lipstick. It feels really nice on my lips after I have applied the balm over the top. The only time It's felt dry on my lips is when I forgotten this step. For a glossy finish this has to be one of the longest lasting lipsticks I've ever come across. It's one of those lipsticks that is a struggle to get off at the end of the day. The colour range is decent and has most staple colours. It's perfect for a long day or a night out. The colour I own has the smallest specks of glitter that give it such a beautiful finish. If you don't have time to re apply this is the lipstick for you.

This lipstick is perfect for going to a music festival or for a big day out. I wore this lipstick to a music festival earlier this year and by the time i got back to the hotel, it still looked like I had just applied the lipstick. I should also mention that this lipstick is kiss proof, which is good for those who want to wear lipstick on a date, but don't want the smudging

I own this lippy in 4 shades, and love all of them. The product is long lasting, and non transferring.

It can be a little drying , a bit pricey, and hard to master the application. But for the colour payoff, and longevity of this product, it's my favourite lip product in my collection.

This liquid lip colour is perfect for when I need my lips to last the entire day and not want to worry about touch ups. Whereas most lipsticks fade or disappear around the 4 hour mark, I get at least 8 hours wear from this which is the most long lasting ive worn even with the more neutral colours.
The formula is creamy upon application and very opaque so I find that one coat is perfect. It then dries down to more of a velvety finish very quickly so the 2 step system is a breeze to use and the gloss finish is hydrating and balmy but also optional. Impressively it lasts through food and drink as well as dabbing with a napkin. It does not transfer off which is great for all occassion. It is one strong lipstick and even needs makeup remover at the end of the day to take off.

If you're prioritising lip color that doesn't budge, then this is definitely one to look at. Put it this way: I had dabbed some of the color onto the back of hand with the testers and it took 3 days to wash off completely! There's a pretty impressive range of colours (I've used Timeless Toffee and Perpetual Plum), and I totally intend to wear Timeless Toffee on my wedding day since it really doesn't budge. BUT - and this is a really bit BUT - you really, really need to make sure you keep the lip balm end handy.

The color is dispensed on a wand out of one end of the tube, and the other end is a clear stick of lip balm. You *must* use the balm (or any other moisturizing balm) if your lips are prone to drying (like mine), because you'll be reapplying it throughout the day to keep your lips soft and the color from flaking. I reckon this is a great lip gloss for special occasions - like a wedding! - but I'd definitely skip it for daily wear.
